In this experiment, ZnO films will be grown epitaxially by pulsed laser abation of ZnO from a polycrystalline target onto SiO2 and sapphire substrates. An excimer laser with ~25 ns pulses will be used to ablate the target material onto the substrate, and specular and in-plane diffraction measurements will be performed in real-time during ablation pulses, and on milli-second to kilo-second time-scales subsequent to ablation pulses. equipment+required: most of the NIM modules and detectors Bicron, incident beam slits, and incident beam ion chamber, etc. experiment: Real-time pulsed-deposition film-growth hazards: Excimer laser (Clase IV, 248 nm, 1 J/pulse) Fluorine gas (5% in 95%He) this goes with the laser Needs the new vent to the D hutch Needs the laser safety guy to OK the D hutch for use name: Jon Tischler new+request: on nonmembers: All people involved are in the Solid State Division at ORNL (Jon Tischler, Ben Larson, Gyula Eres, Doug Lowndes) station: 33ID-D unacceptable+dates: Before May25 #QUERY_STRING: #REMOTE_HOST: tischler.uni.aps.anl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 164.54.216.20 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1380 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/unireq.htm #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/3.01 (Macintosh; U; PPC)
