We will use the Si(333) beam at 9 keV (100 meV bandwidth) and a Ge(733) high resolution analyzer as optics. The crystals are insulating Sr2CuO2Cl2 and La2CuO4. We hope to measure the charge transfer gap (1.8 eV) dispersion for comparison to EELS measurements made in 1996. equipment+required: high resolution translation stage (10 micron), huber tilt stage with gear boxes, experiment: X-ray Raman Scattering from Insulating Cuprates hazards: There are no special hazards associated with this experiment. name: Peter Abbamonte new+request: on nonmembers: Eric Isaacs (Bell), Clem Burns (W.
