The signal is resonant at the Ir L_III edge and somewhat broader than the superlattice charge peaks. Beam time is requested to characterize this peak, which is located near the peak in the Ir stucture factor, by studying the resonant properties in greater detail, determining its rocking width, and seeking a peak at other candidate positions. Other samples grown on STO will be available. Evidently, growth on STO solves previous problems encountered with degradation of samples grown on MgO on exposure to the x-ray beam. equipment+required: UIUC Polarimeter experiment: Spacer-layer magnetization in exchange coupled superlattices hazards: None known name: M.
