By mainly observing Pb(10L) CTRs, growth of Pb islands with uniform heights were recorded in real time up to 18 layers between 125K to 60K. Also, CTR's and reflectivies were recorded during annealing. The continous increase of island heights were observed up to 30 layer (60% increase of height) during annealing. At the same time, it appeared that the individual islands increased their sizes. Also, different kinetic pathes resulted quite different morphologies of films. This time, we would like to concentrate on islands formation to smaller number of heights (3-9 layers). Time resolved reflectivity will provide higher resolution on these island heights. In these thickness ranges, many metal/semiconductor system showed anomalous behaviors, such as, oscillating lattice distances between layers, growth with magical heights, double layer growth and crystallization of initially amorphous-like films. We plan to resolves these structural issues and kinetic effects on them.
