We wish to investigate variations in the shape, size and morphology of the formed agglomerates, and to determine to what extent USAXS could be used to follow changes arising from diferent dispersion conditions. We would like to compare the particle size and size distributions obtained by USAXS with those derived from conventional size analysis. Powder systems to be studied would include particles with a range of densities and optical properties (TiO2, Al2O3, ZrO2, SiO2) equipment+required: Ultrasonic disrupter, pH meter, stir plates. experiment: Physics of Fine Particle Agglomeration in Suspensions foreign+nationals: Andrew Allen (U.K.citizen, U.S. permanent resident) Ajit Jillavenkatesa (Indian citizen, U.S. permanent resident) hazards: A range of pH values is proposed between 3 and 9. Containment issues will be addressed for low pH etc. Normal precautions will be observed for the use of dilute nitric acid and ammonium hydroxide. minimumdays: 2 name: Andrew Allen new+request: on nonmembers: None unacceptable+dates: November 21 - November 30 #REMOTE_HOST: porcelain.nist.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 129.6.180.24 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1346 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/unireq.htm #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Mac_PowerPC)
