	Several new classes of layered silicates will be invistigated by USAXS to determine particle/aggregate sizes and fractal dimensions.  This information will be combined with dynamic mechanical data, nuclear magnetic resonance data, and 2-dimensional IR analysis to confirm theoretical models for winter tire performance and wet traction.
