We will study the diffuse x-ray scattering to determine the density and approximate size of defects in some irradiated samples. We wish to collect data on-the-fly. equipment+required: Kappa Diffractometer Wide dynamic-range detector experiment: Defect structure of steel alloys foreign+nationals: Rosa Barabash hazards: The sample is inert polycrystalline 99.99% Fe with large grains (~1 mm). The sample have been mildly activated due to irradiation in 1996. The activity is sufficiently low that it can be sent as an exempt quantity. The sample dimensions are 7.4 x 21.8 x1.01 mm. minimumdays: 2 name: Gene Ice nonmembers: Rodger Stoller unacceptable+dates: February 1-9 March 8-17 #REMOTE_HOST: geig4dp.ms.ornl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 128.219.33.195 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 907 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/unireq.htm #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/4.73C-CCK-MCD {C-UDP; EBM-APPLE} (Macintosh; U; PPC)
