We have done studies of magical thickness and morphology for the system Ag/Si(111). We propose this time to study a new system, Ag on Ge(111). This system, that has no been studied for QSEs although it contains intriguing properties, offers a practical advatage for us. We plan to study different film thicknesses on the same substrate. The Ge substrate will be cleaned in vacuum by argon-ion sputtering and annealing. In addition, we want to continue our work on the Ag/Si(111) system.
