The calculated concentrations are sufficient to detect by precision diffuse x-ray scattering measurements if the thermal diffuse scattering is suppressed by cooling the crystal, and if the residual TDS from is removed from the measured TDS by measuring an annealed crystal. We wish to test the theoretical calculation with an experimental measurement. This example experiment shows how synchrotron radiation will allow single crystal measurements on materials samples with large polycrystalline grains. equipment+required: Displex on Newport experiment: Radiation induced defects in Single Crystals foreign+nationals: hazards: The sample is activated. Previously we locked the sample in a safe when not in use and padlocked the hutch when the experiment was not attended. minimumdays: 2 name: Gene Ice nonmembers: unacceptable+dates: Oct 13-16, Nov 9-12 #REMOTE_HOST: icegeg4.ornl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 160.91.157.187 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1045 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/unireq.htm #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.22; Mac_PowerPC)
