The detailed description of the entire program is attached to this text (a proposal previously submitted at the ESRF). The final device will consist of a hard X-ray microscope working with a KB-mirror as condenser and a FZP as objective lens, integrated to a tomography setup. Up to now the tomography setup has been installed, matching the requirements for the increased resolution. As next step the elements for the X-ray microscope have to be tested in order to complete the entire setup. As condenser we plan to use either the focusing devices installed at 33-ID (mirrors) or a mobile mirror system and a Fresnel-zone plate as objective lens. The goal of the experiment is to show sub-100nm resolution in imaging and to make –if possible- in addition a single tomographic scan. The latter would lead to a result not achieved until now in high-resolution hard X-ray tomography. The following experiment will be about X-ray magnified tomography and its applications and the contrast enhancement using the Zernike Phase-contrast method. equipment_required: experiment: Testing a hard X-ray microscope for nano-imaging foreign_nationals: evt.
