[1] Entanglement issues in boron nitride nanotubes flowing in a surfactant medium: in collaboration with NASA we wish to explore how flow/surfactant conditions may be optimized to minimize entanglement effects. The size and concentration of BN nanotubes should produce a significantly largeer signal than encountered in typical carbon nanotube studies. [2] Depletion effects in composite nanoparticulate systems as pH conditions are varied. Preliminary results showed promise and we would like to conduct a more serious study of a technologically applicable system. [3] We need to test modifications we are making to the flow cell temperature and pH control / monitoring capability, and hence complete comissioning of the cell for USAXS. equipment_required: NIST USAXS Flow Cell experiment: Nanoassembly and Nanocomposite Interactions in Flowiing Suspensions foreign_nationals: Jan Ilavsky, XOR. hazards: A range of pH will be explored from below 3 to above 10.
