The miscut Si(124) surface spontaneously facets into a grooved morphology onto which the Ge aligns itself into crystalline wires. The size distribution of the wires will be determined from the shape of the Ge diffraction peak. The homogeneity will be investigated by scanning the sample through the focus of the KB mirrors. equipment_required: KB mirrors. (Uncoated) experiment: Germanium nanowires foreign_nationals: hazards: Samples are all prefabricated at MRL and will be returned to the grower after the experiment. instrument: 34ID-C coherent instrument_other: minimumdays: 4 name: Ian Robinson new_request: ON nonmembers: unacceptable_dates: Preferred dates Nov 3-8.
