Several items were identified as possible causes such as A2Rp piezo and motor vibration. Further, operations at these higher energies are more sensitive to noise due to low the Bragg angles of the Si (111) optics. Since then, the platen at the contact end of the A2Rp piezo translator has been reseated and glued into place. This may fix the source of the major observed instability at 18 keV. We will test the optics of the instrument and see if we can find optimal conditions to operate the USAXS at these energies. If time is available, we will also test side-bounce optics but this is an added complication for the basic testing. equipment_required: experiment: USAXS operations at 18 keV foreign_nationals: hazards: instrument: 33ID-D USAXS instrument_other: minimumdays: .333333333 name: Pete Jemian nonmembers: unacceptable_dates: there are two shifts available on March 28 (8 AM until midnight) after the last allocated USAXS beam time z34ID_details: #REMOTE_HOST: zrh.uni.aps.anl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 164.54.216.36 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1163 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/unireq.htm #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113
