DNA-wrapped CNT dispersions will be studied as a function of selected length and chirality to quantify the dispersion quality. These and other CNT suspensions will also be explored using a modified flow cell geometry to determine the degree to which CNT alignment is feasible. Gold nanoshell ensembles will be studied as a function of wall thickness and diameter distribution to determine which systems have the narrowest structural dispersion and hence best ensemble optical properties for cancer therapy. equipment_required: Control macros for online flow-cell components through 33-ID beam line control computer. Regular USAXS at around 11 keV with NIST Flow Cell. experiment: NIST USAXS Flow Cell Studies of PA Co-assembly, DNA-Wrapped CNT Dispersions and Gold Nanoshell Suspensions foreign_nationals: N/A hazards: All suspensions will be contained in flow-cell circuit or static liquid cells, no special hazards. Standard chem. Lab sample preparation will be needed including sonication, cleaning in fume hood, etc. Gloves and safety glasses will be worn, MSDS sheets will be consulted for all solvents. pH should be within 4 to 10 range or additional precautions will be taken. instrument: 33ID-D USAXS instrument_other: minimumdays: 4 name: Dr. Andrew J.
