The experiments will allow us to probe the relations between the alloy compostion and the short range order (SRO) in the amorphous phase. The sample will be prepared in Ames Laboratory of DOE in the form of sputtered films or melt spun ribbon. The proof of concept experiments has been done and it shows that the signal-noise with these samples are excellent. Care need to be taken to prepare the uniform sample from the melt spun ribbon. equipment_required: No experiment: Determination of the Pair Correlation in the Zr-based Amorphous Alloys. foreign_nationals: hazards: No hazardous meterials and procedure involves in the experiments. instrument: 33BM-B XAFS instrument_other: minimumdays: 2 name: Yang,Ning nonmembers: Matthew Kramer, Daniel Sordelet, Ryan Ott, Min Xu submit: Submit unacceptable_dates: 5/30/2006- 6/9/2006 7/8/2006- 7/14/2006 7/30/2006-8/2/2006 z34ID_details: #REMOTE_HOST: pou.uni.aps.anl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 164.54.216.39 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1176 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/admin/unireq.html #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)
