In order to achieve the characterization of the strong anisotropy, several "aniso-scans" at various fixed Q values must be done (1 hour per sample). Additionally, we expect to have to measure at selected important anisotropic directions (possibly 6-8 per sample direction - about 3 hours) + sample alignment time (at least 1 hour) – about 5-6 hours per sample direction will be needed. Therefore we look ahead to characterize 3-4 perpendicular directions per day (that is about 2 specimens). For every specimen condition two measurements are required, one in as coated conditions and another after annealing conditions. That makes four specimens (8 perpendicular directions) and the required beam time for that would be at least 2 days, more likely 3 days, depending if setup time will be part of the assigned measurement time. We also expect to have to run at higher energies (16.9 keV), which are within the instrument usable range. equipment_required: - experiment: Analysis of relationship between various types of voids and performance of anisotropic Electron Beam-Physical Vapor Deposited Thermal Barrier Coatings foreign_nationals: Arturo Flores Renteria hazards: Non hazardous samples instrument: 33ID-D USAXS instrument_other: minimumdays: 2 name: Arturo Flores Renteria nonmembers: Jan Ilavsky submit: Submit unacceptable_dates: - z34ID_details: #REMOTE_HOST: adsl-75-3-252-14.dsl.irvnca.sbcglobal.net #REMOTE_ADDR: 75.3.252.14 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1787 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/admin/unireq.html #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; YPC 3.2.0; FunWebProducts; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
