In the last cycle we have already found two kinds of diffuse peaks, (pi/2, pi/2, 0) and (pi, pi). We will study the temperature dependence to confirm that these diffuse peaks are related to the pseudogap. This work relates to the subject of intermediate phase in doped Mott-insulator, currently a very hot subject. The stripe state has long been known to be such an intermediate state, but the recent data are against the presence of the stripe state in strongly superconducting state. The proposed new intermediate state is more consistent with the recent ARPES data, and has a chance of explaining the pseudogap state of the cuprate, hence the origin of the superconductivity.
