The aim is to look further at the strain effects present in Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanowires; including the effect of different substrates (sapphire and ITO) and the strain introduced by copper as a dopant. Inversion of the observed continuous diffraction pattern using iterative algorithms will produce a 3D strain map. ZnO is of specific interest as it is known to form both cubic and hexagonal wurzite structures, thus strain is highly probable and further increased by the addition of a dopant. equipment_required: KB mirrors, CCD detectors and diffractometer experiment: Coherent X-ray Diffraction of Zinc Oxide nanowires foreign_nationals: Steven Leake hazards: All samples are non toxic and will be prepared outside the APS and removed afterwards. instrument: 34ID-C coherent instrument_other: minimumdays: 4 name: Steven Leake nonmembers: submit: Submit unacceptable_dates: Before July 24th.
