The particular system studied will depend on the focus size of the x-ray microbeam. If beams smaller than 0.5 micron are achieved, we will perform temperature-dependent studies (using Eliot Specht's cryo stage) of strain fluctuations in epitaxial manganite (LaPrCaMnO3) films on single-crystal oxide substrates.
