The hypothesis is that as the orbital ordering in the plane of the film improves (coherency improves) by building the appropriate Sr doping of a LSMO film by using the appropriate repeating layers of LMO and SMO in a superlattice fashion. The ordering temperature(resistivity drop) shifts higher with this method. We found evidence of a corresponding lattice compression as the resistance decreases. To complete this data the random Sr doped LSMO film needs to be remeasured above 400K. and one of the engineered superlattice structures needs to be studied again as an unusual shift in lattice length was measured above 400K which we need to understand the nature of, i.e. an experimental error or is it a real phenomenon. equipment_required: High Temperature Displex coordinate with sector 4 experiment: Temperature dependent lattice changes due to in-plane Orbital Ordering of Manganite superlattices. foreign_nationals: hazards: instrument: 33BM-C fourc instrument_other: minimumdays: 2 name: Evguenia Karapetrova nonmembers: Philip Ryan 6-ID submit: Submit unacceptable_dates: 19th June - 4 July 2008 z34ID_details: #REMOTE_HOST: svo.uni.aps.anl.gov #REMOTE_ADDR: 164.54.216.35 #CONTENT_LENGTH: 1398 #HTTP_REFERER: http://www.uni.aps.anl.gov/admin/unireq.html #HTTP_USER_AGENT: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13
