Previous demonstrations of PIE using hard x-rays [1] are done only in the transmission geometry. Furthermore, only two dimensional reconstructions using PIE have been demonstrated using visible light and x-rays[1, 2]; here we propose to test the performance of PIE in reconstructing three dimensional objects. Lastly, we propose to test in an experimental setting an algorithm that addresses and corrects one the fundamental problems of PIE: incorrect knowledge of the illumination function positions due to finite uncertainty of scanning motor positions.
