For PL measurements, we will bring suitable collection optics and a miniature fiber optic spectrometer (Ocean Optics 1.1-6.2 eV). We will begin by studying local PL changes along individual EuAlO nanorods and in 2D scans of heteroepitaxial GaN and ZnO films grown on sapphire. By simultaneously mapping the spatial variations of the lattice and the PL spectra, we will be able to investigate structural mechanisms relevant in materials for light emission applications.
