Different substrates (SrTiO, LaAlO, SrLaGaO, NdGaO) will be used to induce tensile, compressive or negligible in-plane stresses. We expect that the in-plane strain will control the formation of domains associated with orthorhombic distortions of the MnO6 octraheda. We expect that the diffraction peaks will broaden at low temperatures due to the formation of nanoscale strain domains.
